HŌRU Press Kit
Description
HŌRU is a science-fantasy real-time strategy (RTS) and 4X hybrid for PC. It combines interstellar empire management with simultaneous land and space battles.
Inspired by Star Wars: Empire at War, the game features planetary invasions involving hundreds of thousands of units and space battles involving thousands of ships. Armies include troopers, war machines, cyborgs, battlemages and monsters.
Players can switch between battles and empire management without waiting for another battle to end. Forces can be commanded directly or assigned to commanders while other battles continue.
The trailer and screenshots were captured directly in-engine, with no pre-rendered content.

Features
Drop zones
Players assign objectives to drop zones before troops land. Arriving units automatically follow those orders, including capturing or destroying buildings, targeting artillery and moving to designated locations.
Space battles
Space combat includes tactical wormholes that teleport ships to a planet and miniature black holes that destroy anything within their orbit.
Boarding
Boarding vessels deploy troops inside enemy ships. Boarding parties must reach the bridge before the ship self-destructs. Successful boarding transfers control of the ship to the attacking fleet.
Empire management
Players colonize planets and develop their infrastructure. The economy includes mining raw materials, producing alloys and harvesting mana from anomalous planets. Infrastructure includes forge worlds, shipyards, space stations and orbital buildings, with garrisons defending planetary holdings.
Espionage
Agents infiltrate rival empires, control people in key positions and pass false intelligence to opponents.
Research
Research is divided into two branches: Tech and Genes.
Tech improves the empire, while Genes provides unit upgrades.
Development
An early backer alpha is planned for six months after the Kickstarter campaign. Backers will be able to play the alpha and provide feedback during development.
Work toward the alpha focuses on additional content, testing and optimization.
Release is planned for Q3 2028.
